Though You Have To Fight The World

Is it overrated to let love take over your life?

One desperate love. With emotional swift in every second of it. Every time you feel it, it grows bigger inside. Fulfilling you with certain burst of color and sparks. Though it gets your tears drained or your eyes drenched. Though you have to fight the world.
Why not? Sometimes, it's just worth it.

A Very Quick Update

Was a busy week.
Rapat Kerja. QI project. Another QI meeting. Lab-assistant interview *finger-crossed*.   SPWI 2012.
Still thanking God everything falls into place, still thanking God it's Sunday. HAVE A GOOD SUNDAY!<3

Date A Girl Who Reads

"Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second hand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow.

She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book.

Buy her another cup of coffee.

Let her know what you really think of Murakami. See if she got through the first chapter of Fellowship. Understand that if she says she understood James Joyce’s Ulysses she’s just saying that to sound intelligent. Ask her if she loves Alice or she would like to be Alice.

It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas and for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry, in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does.

She has to give it a shot somehow.

Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are other things: motivation, value, nuance, dialogue. It will not be the end of the world.

Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who understand that all things will come to end. That you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two.

Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilightseries.

If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are.

You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype.
You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots.

Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.

...Or better yet, date a girl who writes."

Anyway, besides traveling, photography helps me celebrating the beauty of things and life, even from the littlest ones.

Do You Mind If I Dance?

To be true is harsh.
You may encounter stuffs that are practically nonsense. You look at things you don't want to know. You find some people talk about you, about your daily job, or the nail color you use.
Not important, though.
Do you mind if I dance?

Then, turns out, you can only trust those you can trust. The rest will keep talking.
And listening to the rest will make it a overrated.
Go ahead and just love. Anyway, thank you for caring much.

Love Takes Hostages

Neil Gaiman, one of my favorite author ever wrote :

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.You build up all these defenses, you nuild up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...
You give them a piece of you, they didn't ask for it.
They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then
your life isn't your own anymore.
Love takes hostages.
It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple like a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a-real-gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love."

What is written there just happens to be so true.
Love takes hostages and the hostages is... yourself, your days, your dreams, your life totally.
How you give someone rights to drag you up or take you down.
How sometimes you eat the pain in order to love.
I don't know, but though it takes hostages, it shouldn't break you down.
Choose the right person who will take you as their hostages. Choose who's gonna worth what they take; your freedom, your time. Choose those who appreciate you, even when all you do is just whining.

And stick with those who do, who never let you go no matter how really hard the situation is.

Make sure you are the happiest hostage of the right person and make him your hostage too in return.
Two hostages in one love sounds just nice.

A Post I Currently Love

Taken from Paulo Coelho's blog. A beautiful short story with true meaning.

20 Sec Reading : The Boy and The Devil

The boy was walking to buy bread when the mayor of the city crossed the street.
‘The reason he is so powerful, is because, he’s made a pact with the devil,’ a very devout woman in the street told the boy.
Some time later, when travelling to another town, the boy saw a beautiful corn field. He asked who the owner was.
‘All this land belongs to the same man. I’d say the Devil had a hand in that.’ – answered one of the villagers.
At this very moment, a beautiful woman walked past the boy. A priest also saw her and said aloud:
‘That woman is in the services of Satan!’
From then on, the boy decided to seek the Devil out. One day he managed to see him face to face.
‘They say you can make people powerful, rich, and beautiful.’
‘To be totally honest, this is not true’ replied the Devil.
‘You have just been listening to the views of those who are trying to promote me.’
Got a certain point of this story? Tell me what you think.

Kepo

Good morning. Some people are that interesting to see and explore, aren't they? I woke up and checked my blog traffic this morning and found out how one of my posts had reached 324 views. Nah, that one about my breaking up. That is astonishing. And no, I'm not showiing off here. I mean, my blog is rarely updated now, I'm busy tweeting and doing another things. It is just fun to realise how people, yeah all people including me, are curious enough to know things that happen to other people. Is it because of caring enough? Or because of looking for things to mock at? I am completely clueless, maybe for different purposes yet I hope it's because they care. ;) Anyway, thank you for reading my blog or just viewing as you blog-rolling. Sending you much love and I hope your curiosity won't kill you like it killed a cat. GOOD DAY! MAY BLESSINGS AND GRACE SURROUND AS ALWAYS. xx

Insults!

My most favorite author in the whole universe posted on his blog, a very nice post, very encouraging. "Celui qui ne prend pas les insultes au sérieux est sur la voie de la sagesse." Go find the meaning on Google Translate and read the whole post here

Beyond What Happens

It takes courage to see the deeper meaning
I mean, nothing is coincidence, everything has got its purpose, and to look closer costs us extra. But don't bother. Sometimes, a piece of beauty is hidden under what happens.
Look a bit bit bit closer, pay more attention.
Just like when you feel tired and get sick, God asks us to take a rest.
And some people that dislike you is a sign that shows the worth of those who love you much. Always take the bright side. Living large, happiness and blessings are in the nearest corner. <3
